International Masterclass Foresight:
working together around a desirable Future of Europe

The enormous rapidly changing society has set a number of robust challenges for us to ensure that future generations can also live in a sustainable world. Various Grand Societal Challenges (GSC) have been formulated within the Netherlands, Europe and the world that require attention in order to have it liveable in 2050 too.

Within this module we will anticipate and find solutions to “tackle” these challenges. With students from Antwerp, Budapest, Istanbul and Bilbao, you will work intensively together using the Future prototyping method for Sustainable Futures to determine a desired future and then further elaborate it. A picture of the future for <2050 is being compiled that shows how the new generations can live together in a sustainable way in Europe. With the help of storytelling and other visualisations you imagine your future vision. A connection is also made from future studies to concept creation / innovation. From the desired image, consideration is given to how you can develop a product service in the now (2020).

The first of five international online meetings starts Thursday evenings the 18th of March. At the last session you will present your Future proof Prototype at the Foresight conference  Tuesdays the 20th of May.

This masterclass is part of an European Erasmus + project. This programme is partly subsidized by the European Union.
